Birds like to dance in the sky

Nightthe moon is outside
water rushes from the sky
my universe cries
Wolf RunGrey wolves run tonight
They sing their songs to the moon
The pups get first kill

Blue Fighter

Flowing silken veil
Blue deeper than midnight sky
Fierce fighting fish flares

Red Jester

Satin red sparks blue
Merry dancing flutter fins
Dart with joyful play

Bowl

Circle round once more
Perhaps it is different now...
Infinite glass wall

Pond

Shining gold shimmer
Twinkles beneath the water
Glinting beyond reach

NightThe darkness of night
Made complete obscurity,
Then comes daylight.
Seasonal HaikuA sparkling moon:
Shimmering in the water,
A glittering eye.

I feel the wind blow—
Blushing bright autumn colours
Turning of new leaves.

Frothy white waves soothe
Troubled minds. I scrunch my toes—
It’s too cold this year...

Hours Seconds Minutes Life
Tick Tock Tick Tock Stop

Shining in sticky cobwebs
Dew like little pearls

for the ones who don't know
a haiku is:
line #1: 5 syllables
line #2: 7 syllables
line #3: 5 syllables

How obsessively
the camera's fixed eye stares
at the lost moment.
Empathy With The NightEmpty streets are no surprise to him,
The strange kid goes looking for what he might uncover
in the spaces of the night. He can imagine his solitude
a cloak of invisibility. He has wrapped it round his soul.

It's cold. The frost teaches how loneliness, like winter's
chill, will steal into your bones, how numb it will make you,
how little time passes before you are able to stop noticing
things that you no longer feel. He walks towards

the dawn, a few coins in his pocket for coffee,
before he wearily climbs the stairwell, finds his bed.
ConqueredA grief ago they suffered
in ways we can't imagine, much less know.

The rolling prairies of spirit and of mind
shrunk by the abstracts of geography, by
unforgiving lines of barbed wire.

The nomads hunted by those who claimed
the prairies could be owned, their choice
docility or suicide. For the luckless few

who managed to survive, a form of slavery,
a death in life deprived of hope.
Presently
The child has no use
for the memories that shade
watching adult eyes.

His paradise happens now,
complete without any name.
Internalised
Beyond the window
lies serenity, freedom
that she'll never reach.
